SideCli is a sidebar terminal that stays hidden to save screen space, then appears instantly when your cursor touches the edge. It also supports split panes so you can run multiple command contexts side by side. Native-like interactions, with an app size of only 3MB. Completely free to use.

System requirement: macOS 14.0 or later.

  • 100% free to use
  • Auto-hide sidebar interaction to maximize workspace
  • Native-like terminal and macOS shortcut behavior
  • Split panes for parallel terminal workflows
  • Ultra lightweight package size: only 3MB

Why SideCli

I built SideCli because CLI-first workflows are becoming mainstream. More and more dev tools now ship CLI modes, especially in the AI coding era, but many popular CLI apps keep getting heavier as they try to include everything.

Meanwhile, raw terminal windows are often scattered and hard to manage. SideCli is my answer: native-like macOS experience, split panes for parallel tasks, better command access and organization, and a lightweight design that keeps only the essential features.

  • Built for the new CLI-first development workflow
  • Reduces terminal clutter and improves command management
  • Split panes help you run and compare workflows in one place
  • Targets native-like experience instead of feature bloat
  • Only the essentials, with an ultra-light 3MB footprint
